The Security of Multi-Sig: Safeguarding Corporate Treasuries on Wullut

Managing corporate treasury is a balancing act between accessibility and security. In a growing company, single employees should never have the ability to execute large transactions unilaterally. Traditional banking manages this risk via complex authorization hierarchies and manual call-back procedures. However, these checks are slow, rely on human vigilance, and are vulnerable to social engineering attacks (such as "CEO fraud" where an accountant is tricked into sending a wire). Wullut introduces automated **Multi-Signature (Multi-Sig) Approvals** built directly into our corporate treasury dashboard, replacing human vulnerability with cryptographic guarantees.

What is Multi-Signature?

In standard cryptographic finance, a wallet is controlled by a single private key. Anyone with that key can withdraw all the funds. A Multi-Sig wallet requires **multiple independent approvals** before a transaction can be signed and broadcast to the blockchain. For example, a corporate treasury might establish a "3-of-5" multi-sig rule. This means the company designates 5 keyholders (e.g. the CEO, CFO, COO, Treasurer, and Lead Auditor). To transfer any funds, at least 3 of these 5 individuals must sign the transaction using their own biometric devices.

The Advantages of Wullut Corporate Multi-Sig

Wullut's corporate multi-sig engine offers several key advantages over traditional systems:

1. Dynamic Approval Workflows

Set rules based on transaction size. For instance, transactions under $5,000 might only require 1 signature, while transfers over $50,000 require 3 signatures, including the CFO.

2. Guardrails and Whitelisting

Establish whitelists of verified supplier addresses and bank details. Any transaction to an address not on the whitelist is automatically blocked, regardless of how many signatures it receives.

3. Integrated Biometric Hardware

Keyholders sign transactions using their personal mobile devices' Secure Enclaves (FaceID or Fingerprint), eliminating the risk of shared passwords or compromised laptop keys.

Protecting Against Ransomware and Social Engineering

Even if an attacker gains control of a company’s central servers, they cannot steal multi-sig assets. Because the signing keys are held on physical devices owned by individual executives, the attacker would need to compromise multiple physical devices simultaneously. By making multi-signature protection easy to configure and deploy, Wullut gives corporate treasurers the peace of mind that their assets are secured by the highest standards of Web3 cryptography.
